In the catalog we offer you can find our most iconic leathers, characterized by vegetable and semi-vegetable tanning.
It is called "vegetable-based" because the substances used in tanning (the so-called "tanning agents") are tannins, natural extracts derived exclusively from plant sources such as chestnut and quebracho wood, gall nuts and Tara pods. Vegetable-tanned leather is particularly suitable for allergy sufferers, as tannins are processed without the use of toxic substances or heavy metals. Being of vegetable origin, tannins are absolutely safe even for the most sensitive skins, such as those of children.
